FAMILY REVIEW – the Dastur Family: We have three boys who all play for the Chargers. At the time of the trip they were a U10, a U12 and a U14. Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed the Italy trip. It was definitely action-packed. From the minute we got off the plane we were going non-stop seeing the country and seeing the European perspective on soccer. Day one was seeing the Vatican and then going to an AS Roma game before we even got to our hotel. Our boys have been to MLS and women's world cup games but they still talk about how different and great the atmosphere was seeing a Serie A game in person. One thing we loved about the trip was getting to see a lot of things off the beaten path that we would have missed if we went by ourselves. Having Marco as a tour guide was great because he lived and went to school there. He knew his way around Perugia and Assisi and was able to tell us about things and show us places we never would have known about on our own. The Italian coaches did a great job with the trainings and our 10 year old still brags about playing in an "International Match" against an Italian team. The days in Rome were organized and packed with seeing all the big sites. There is no way we would have been able to get to all of that on our own without Marco and Francesca who knew the city so well. The food and wine were phenomenal. We had Pastas, delicious pizzas by the meter, fantastic wine and chocolate tours and great desserts. Getting to know other Charger families really well was also a great perk of being together for the week also. From a parent's perspective we are glad we went. Our boys got the chance to see a different country and culture and got a lot out of it. All three boys, my wife and I all rate it as the best family trip we have taken.
