Sometimes during challenging times there are silver linings. Here is an exciting one to share with all Chargers.
On Wednesday, April 15th, U.S. Soccer determined to end the operation of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
In light of U.S. Soccer’s announcement to disband the Development Academy and its competitive platform, the following DA clubs have agreed to form the basis of a new competitive team platform:
- Armada FC Pro Academy
- Chargers Soccer Club
- IMG Academy
- Miami Rush Kendall SC
- South Florida Football Academy
- Tampa Bay Rowdies
- Weston FC
These clubs have partnered together with the goal on how to implement the best DA competitive platform that accommodates all the clubs and their aspirations for player development moving forward. The development platform will include a ten month season and maintain similar standards to those that had been implemented as part of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
This will enable every Chargers Soccer Club player the opportunity and pathway to progress through the Chargers soccer model utilizing best coaching methods, Club organization and competitions to reach their full potential as a player and person.
The Chargers leadership staff and coaches continue to work very diligently through this changing landscape in youth soccer and pandemic challenges so that all Chargers SC players and families maintain the very best that our Club has to offer and deserves!
As more inforamtion becomes available updates will be posted here!
