AS Roma Coach Visit - Updated Itinerary

US ACADEMY_ASROMA PROGRAM from AS Roma USA Academy on Vimeo.

What a great experience this week has been so far with Coaches Gabriele Pallone & Odoacre Chierico at all Chargers Communities.  We hope you are following us on Twitter (@ChargersSC & @ChargersDA) & Facebook(@ChargersSC & @ChargersDA).

Check out the video just above (and look for the reference to Chargers SC).

Here's a little tid bit you may not know.  Mia Hamm is on the AS Roma Board of Directors.  Hamm, arguably America's most successful soccer player ever and now a Board Director of AS Roma, commented: "As someone who spent their youth living in both the U.S. and Italy, there's a personal satisfaction that comes with seeing Roma investing significant resources to player development in the States. There's a lot of talent here - and it's great that the club continues to recognise that."

AS Roma coaches are coming to spend a week with the Chargers, May 1st through May 7th, 2016.
It will be quite an honor to have Coaches Gabriele Pallone & Odoacre Chierico with our players and coaches.  Activities have been coordinated at each Charger community this week.  We hope to learn more about the Roma philosophy, expose our players to AS Roma for future opportunities and develop our own visit to AS Roma in the upcoming months!  See initial Itinerary for details and come on out.  Also, follow along on our social media feeds at @ChargersSC and @ChargersDA.
Who is AS Roma?  AS Roma is a professional Italian football club based in Rome (founded in 1927) that plays in Serie A (professional league competition for football clubs located at the top of the Italian football league system).  In addition to their professional team ranks, they also have a renowned youth academy and have now branched out to the USA Academy.
What is the AS Roma USA Academy? From the AS Roma USA Academy Website
'In January 2015, AS Roma announced the expansion of its renowned youth soccer academy program to the United States. The club now has a direct, year-round partnership with 10 elite U.S. soccer academies with a focus on identifying and developing top-tier players.
"We are very proud to launch our U.S. Academy program and to formalise our partnership with select top-flight U.S clubs," claimed AS Roma President James Pallotta at the time. "Player development in the United States continues to be a top priority for us.  We are confident this initiative will be great for the country and club and produce many star players of tomorrow."'
It was quite an honor that the Chargers Soccer Club was chosen as one of those 10 Development Academy clubs in the US.  I'm sure you've seen our retweets from their first two weeks of their visits to Boston Bolts, Crossfire, PDA and Patadores.  You can follow along on their social media at  @ASRomaUSAcademy.
