CLEARWATER, Fla. - Four Clearwater-based Chargers SC teams reached the finals of this past weekend’s Largo Halloween Tournament, with the U12 Boys Red and U12 Girls Yellow capturing championships. The event took place this past weekend in Largo, Seminole and Pinellas Park.

The U12 Boys Red and U12 Boys Yellow, coached by Rey Villalba and Michael Carboni, had a combined record of 6-1-1 during the event, with the Red Team finishing 4-0 and outscoring opponents 14-5 including a 6-2 victory against FC Tampa Newcastle in the title match. The Yellow squad won its group with a 2-0-1 mark and outscored its opponents 11-1 before dropping a heartbreaker 2-1 in penalty kicks vs. TBU South in the final.

The Clearwater U12 Girls Yellow, coached by Ljubomir Korda, won the Black Division title, going 2-0-1 in group play and taking the championship game 1-0 against the Cape Coral Cyclones. The team outscored its opponents 12-1 en route to the title.

Also advancing to the title game was the U9 Red Boys, who finished second in the group at 2-1 before dropping the title game against the FC Tampa Rangers. Coach James Urquhart’s squad defeated West Pasco 6-3 and Seminole 9-1 during group play.
