Harrison Pithers Commits to U-M

Harrison Pithers, a member of the Chargers DA U-18/19, commits to the University of Michigan.

"This summer was a pivotal time to make decisions regarding both my academic future and aspirations to play soccer at the highest level. I believe I found the perfect match after two unofficial visits at The University of Michigan this summer.

After meeting Coach Daley, McMenemy, Obando, and Makar it was very apparent that theUniversity of Michigan was where I wanted to call home for my College career. They showed a genuine interest in me as a person and a player and had clearly analyzed my style of play and role at Clearwater Chargers US Development Academy. They were open and honest about where they wanted to take their soccer program; I loved their vision and could see myself as part of their future. I also had an opportunity to meet all the current players who were open and welcoming, giving me some real insight on life as a Wolverine. They spoke very highly of all the staff and loved life at Ann Arbor. They have had a great start to this year 4-0-2 and it will only be stronger in two years.

Coach Daley also made it very clear that academics are a vitally important part of the process and the Academic support staff, Alumni Connections and Career Departments were outstanding. Every member of staff was welcoming and enthusiastic. I know that they will all support and push me at every level to achieve great results on and off the field. The campus was fantastic and I cannot wait to see the new multi-million dollar athletics facility when it opens next year.  The Ross School of Business currently ranked #4 in the Country was amazing and to be given an opportunity to study at one of the best schools in the country and play D1 soccer was an easy decision.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank my parents and younger brother, Jake, for being there for me at every step of the way! They have been amazing with their support over the last 12 years – I owe them a lot."

Congratulations, Harry!!  Go Wolverines!!
