Tryouts & Evaluations General Information for Players 8U to 19U
Age Groups are based on a player's birth year. CLICK HERE for the Age Group Matrix to determine your child's age group for next season.
Tryouts can be one of the most demanding events that players go through each year. It is not only demanding for the players and coaches but also parents. Our coaching staff will try to make the process as easy as possible for everyone involved.
Players must remember that any tryout is an imperfect process and mistakes will be made. Our Coaching staff will try to look at each player individually and find a place in the program that fits his/her needs to where he/she can grow as a player and a person.
We can not guarantee a spot on any team. Our philosophy is to look for the best players that we can work with.
Here are what our Coaching staff will look for:
- Skill level;
- Conditioning level;
- Speed and Agility level;
- Are you a problem player?
- Reputation as a player and person;
Many times a coach has to choose a player (or not choose a player) based on a gut instinct. Many times soccer tryouts cannot reveal the true worth of a potential player. Most coaches don't get the chance to know you as a person before they make their team selection. They can see your skill, but they can't know what a hard worker you are unless you show them on the field. How you handle your soccer tryouts will reveal what the coach needs to know and whether there's a place for you on the team.
YOUTH ACADEMY PROGRAM (U8 - U10)
The Youth Academy program is designed to help 8U, 9U and 10U players improve their technical soccer skills which they will need to play at a higher level as well as their love for the game. Our dedicated coaching staff follows a curriculum that provides players with high-quality instruction and age-appropriate activities which creates a fun learning environment.
The majority of the players that enter the Youth Academy during their 8U, 9U and 10U years move on to play competitive soccer once they graduate from the Academy program.
A pool-style training and game system is utilized to create the best possible environment for player development. This allows for players of similar abilities to train and play together consistently and provides a challenge as the players have similar abilities and outlook.
